My first solo!

Here I am performing my first solo to Mourina by El Almaas Band from The World of Bellydance, Vol 3, Disc 1 at the Diamond Lakes Library on July 21, 2008 during the Tour De Libraries. It was scary! Please refer to this blog entry to see why I look so terrified! lol

I posted on Tribe about this, I think but I'll post here to. You did sooo great. I have such a hard time with the drum solos, but you made it look like cake. Congratulations....

I ran across your blog from another knitter's blog and saw this video. I am also a huge fan of belly dancing and have tried it, but I dont' do so well. You did so great. How long did it take you to learn how to belly dance? My hips just don't seem to want to move like yours :)
Great job!

Thank you, everyone!

Melissa, I've been dancing for over six years now (boy, does time fly when you're having fun!) and I'm still learning to bellydance! lol Don't give up, you can do it! My biggest advice to everyone dancing is to not hold back, let you body move, let your flab jiggle, afterall, that's what makes the coin jingle and the tassel flip. Don't over think it, don't feel bad about your body, your posture, your skill level. Be joyful in your dance. Just let go and let fly!!
